One of the best (and most enjoyable) ways I stay current with the admissions and cultural landscapes of various colleges and universities is by making campus visits. In the last two years, I have visited:
Boston College Boston University Tufts University Middlebury College Green Mountain College
Sonoma State Occidental College Chapman University UCLA The Claremont Colleges
UC Santa Barbara UC Santa Cruz CSU Long Beach Univ. Nevada Reno Santa Clara University
Univ. of Washington Univ. of San Francisco Evergreen State Univ. of Vermont Champlain College
I am inspired by guiding students as they plan and dream for their futures. As a long-time educator and professional writer who genuinely enjoys and respects young people, my approach is comprehensive and structured, but always relaxed, creative and full of encouragement.
My own higher education began with a B.A. in English at UC Berkeley, followed by a M.A. in English and Creative Writing from Boston University. I earned teaching credentials in English and Social Studies from Mills College, and after sharing my deep love for literature and writing in high school classrooms for many years, became a school leader and pursued a M.A. in Educational Leadership from St. Mary's College of California. Ultimately, my enthusiasm for working with young people as they charted their post-secondary paths led me to a certificate with distinction in College Admissions Counseling from UCLA.
I'm grateful to have a career where learning never stops. I visit many colleges each year and am eager to share my insights and observations with clients. I participate in professional development every month, read professional publications daily, attend annual conferences and college fairs, and am an active member of educational consulting associations. It's wonderful to see my own learning ultimately benefit my clients as I guide them in their educational journeys.
